HCL My School Programm

Funded by HCL Foundation & Implemented by OfERR

HCL Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of HCL Technologies Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OfERR (Organization for Eelam Refugee Rehabilitation) for My School Program in 2017. The My School Program is a unique initiative by HCL, to improve the quality of education in 29 Government and Government Aided schools in Tamil Nadu (six Districts). In 2017 OfERR signed MOU with HCL in October and carried out Basic mapping survey in all schools & worked with school committee to come up with a school development plan SDP, while also setting up children’s parliaments in 28 schools (one school was dropped after Mapping), OfERR also undertook infrastructure support and conducted child safety, self-defense for girls and positive masculinity for boys, and capacity building & leadership training for teachers in the schools impacting 22185 children (Male: 6520 and Female: 15665) and 828 teachers from 6 Districts (Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Madurai).

Last five years (2017 to 2022 )  OfERR would work in to 45 schools. the training component was fleshed out to become “My school: CLEANER – GREENER – SAFER, By the Children, Of the children, For the Children.
